Gaynor Alder is a Melbourne-based writer, with a penchant for vintage glamour and all things Parisian. When not working as a beauty editor, columnist or media manager, you will find her penning her thoughts and day to day adventures at The Modern Woman’s Survival Guide (think Bridget Jones meets Sex and the City). Here are five of her favourite blogs…
1. Super Kawaii Mama
“It’s no secret I have a penchant for vintage glamour, but I really love Super Kawaii Mama because it inspires women to bring glamour into the everyday (a woman after my own heart). I have been known to do the cleaning in my heels – warning, bathroom tiles may be slippery!”
2. Blogging Dangerously
“Blogging Dangerously is all “Bride Stripped Bare”. A woman cheating on her other blog, by writing incognito on this one – no, not even her husband knows. The anonymity makes this blog lascivious, intriguing and completely compelling reading. More addictive than your daily latte.”
3. Life and Other Crises
“Womankind needs more women like Kerri Sackville – real, candid and witty. I’m not a mother, but I still love reading Life and Other Crises for its no holds barred account of life and motherhood. It’s always so refreshing and liberating when someone is brave enough to be honest about how things really are, because let’s face it, inside every one of us, is a Bridget Jones who isn’t coping.”
4. French Essence
“Vicki Archer is an Australian who splits her time between Southern France and London; and is the author of two beautiful books called “My French Life” and “French Essence” – what a woman! French Essence is a stylish homage to her life in France – the images will make you swoon, and her posts will make you want to pack up your life and move to Provence… but, if you can’t you can live your dream life vicariously through her.”
5. In the Thick of It
“In the Thick of It is written by my editor, Sandi Sieger, from Onya Magazine. Sandi’s writing is always poignant, thought provoking and inspiring.”
